Add Things At Eye-Level

When you are sitting at your desk, you probably take it for granted that your desk is set up to make sure your computer is at eye-level. When you start to set up your office space it is essential you do this before anything else. Not doing this can lead to backache and headaches. Your computer screen needs to always sit at or slightly below your eye-level. You should never be looking down or straining your neck. Your keyboard needs to be parallel with your arms and when you arrange your chair should be adjusted so your feet are able to touch the floor. If your chair isn’t supporting you properly or you are starting to experience back pain make sure you find a chair to suit your needs and remember to take plenty of breaks.

Let In Plenty Of Light

You need ot move away from the usual office cubicle, when you are working from home you can adapt your space to enable more natural light to come into your working area. If you can move your desk to be near a window, you will be able to take advantage of the light from the window, plus if you need a break for your eye, you have somewhere to look and give them a decent rest. Because many of us are working from home for the foreseeable, it’s definitely worth keeping the cabin fever at bay and working near a window. Working in a dark environment can lead to you straining your eyes.

Make Sure You Are Comfortable

You will be spending your entire working day in your work zone, therefore, you need to make it as comfortable as possible. Get yourself a chair that is supportive, use a footrest if you need it to match your chair height, and invest in a raisable desk if you struggle with back pain from sitting for too long. Don’t forget that an added benefit of working from home is been able to get cost with a throw, some comfy bottoms, and your slippers.

Don’t Forget Storage

When you work in the office you probably don’t think about the storage that you are using. You likely use what is provided and don’t think twice about why you need it and what you actually use. However, when it comes to your home office, it will quickly become clear that a desk and chair aren’t enough, and you actually need to have somewhere to store everyday working equipment. It’s important for you to try and incorporate some storage solutions into your home working area. This doesn’t mean you need ot buy a filing cabinet, however, book shelves, small set drawers, and wall shelves could do wonders, as well as making your area feel more like a working environment. At the end of the day, you need to have a place that feels like work, looks like a work area and doubles as a great backdrop for Zoom or Teams calls.

Add Some Greenery

There is just something about nurturing something and watching it grow. You should remember to add in a few plants, they will keep the air fresh and brighten it up. It’s something that is proven to make people happier too. Don’t worry, if you don’t have green fingers, there are plenty to choose from that don’t require much care or even choose artificial ones.
