Employees must always have required breaks and time to rest. Although it may seem like longer hours will increase the amount of work accomplished, this is not true for employees with ASD. In addition, overtime work can have negative consequences for employees with ASD. 

It can cause irritability, fatigue, and other undesirable effects that are counterproductive to their work performance. Thus, employers should avoid overtime work where possible or allow employees with autism adequate time to rest between working hours to perform optimally without any detrimental health effects.
