How to save $385 on your yearly grocery bill

The quest to purchase healthy food and earth friendly groceries can be a challenging one as so many items that are seen to be better for you can often come with a hefty price tag. I mean, you go into a healthy food store, and while a product may be better than the one from Coles, it is still excessively more expensive which can make it harder to justify going for the healthier version.

However a new tech-company out of Perth is setting out to change that. Founded by Alene Sullivan who is passionate about getting healthy groceries into Australian homes and Jerry Li, who was born in Australia to an immigrant family and has seen first hand how hard it can be to afford healthy products, their company Wholesome Market is changing the game.

What is Wholesome Market?

Wholesome Market is an online grocery story that stocks over 3000 mostly Australian products and 200 brands. Their aim is to support local businesses, help the economy, while passing on major savings to members.

They don’t just stock food, they also stock skincare, supplements, cleaning products, kids products and more.  Gluten free, keto, paleo, non-GMO and vegan are all catered for too.

How does it work

Wholesome Market charges a membership fee of $60 per year, so $5 a month to shop with them. For the fee, you then get access to products that are all sold for 15-50% less then retail. The average shopper will save around $35 per order, so your membership will be paid back within 2 shops. This will save you around $385 per year.  All deliveries are carbon neutral and they are free for orders over $79.

They also donate to Aussies in need on your behalf

For every membership purchased, Wholesome Market donates 5-meals to Aussies in need through OzHarvest. They also offer free memberships to Aussies in need directly too.

Their goal is to make healthy groceries accessible for all Australians, and in the 10-months since they have launched, they have saved Aussies over $350, 000 so far.
