A fresh look at Influencer Marketing

We all know by now that Influencer Marketing has emerged as a way for brands to fast-track their reach towards their target audience via established & highly engaged audiences

Some layers of Influencer Marketing explained:

Influencer Content : Shout Outs

The content an Influencer creates on behalf of your brand can be highly valuable and repurposed by the brand with the Influencers consent.

v's

A shoutout, where the brand provides the content & copy to the Influencer.  The Influencer can then adjust the copy to suit their audience to gain maximum traction. This works well for promoting specific campaigns / competitions or events.

Micro Influencers : Macro Influencers

Micro Influencers : 10,000 - 100,000 followers

Macro Influencers : 100,000 + genuine & engaged followers (NOT fake followers...)

Micro Influencers are often the best group of Influencers to engage with. They often have a higher engagement rate and a very loyal audience. (Look for quality content, positive feedback, along with consistent likes & comments)

Reaching out to Influencers

If you're negotiating with an Influencer, offer the Influencer your product in exchange for a post. From there, you may begin negotiations depending on how the Influencer responds.

It's not uncommon for the Influencer to provide a Media Kit and from there you can begin discussions on the cost for the campaign / post.

There is no rule of thumb with the amount to pay Influencers - rather, it's best to discuss this on a case by case scenario. Be sure not to overcapitalise. You can hear more about this topic here

What to include in your Action Plan

We all know.... those that Take Action are those that succeed.... even if there are mistakes, errors and learnings along the way.

It's no surprises that many Business Owners become overwhelmed.

In many cases, Small Business are comprised of Sole Traders (or a small partnership). Being in the role of doing everything, means that it's very common to become too close to the business, too busy to think about growth and very easy to be unsure about what to do next.

We can thank technology for adding to the overwhelm too.....

The best action you can take..... is to remove yourself from your Business to focus on creating an Action Plan (NOT a to-do list....). This may take you a few half-days, or longer (or shorter!) .... depending on your current Business situation.

For me - I'm a logical thinker. I work with clients on a daily basis to create Actionable Tasks and Steps to move them forward.

Whether you're working with a Mentor, Coach or solo with regards to creating an Action Plan - be sure that all the tasks in your plan are leading to where you want to position and grow the business in the next 12-18 months.

A well-crafted Action Plan should have:

  • Prioritised strategies to help reach your business goals
  • Top-line action steps (not a to-do list)
  • Bite-sized chunks i.e.: approx. 4 weeks of work you can dip in and out of during your BAU
    • Typically, an Action Plan will take you up to a hurdle. When it's time to revisit the Plan, the hurdle is tackled before setting off on the updated Action Plan.
  • Vision for your impending or established business
  • Focus & Clarity
  • Confidence to move forward
Your Action Plan should be clear & concise, making business life very simple

The plan should be prioritised and highly organised.  Under each Strategy Heading, include bullet point actions for you to take, along with supplier contact details where required.

Supercharge your productivity

Every day you have a choice to create a better start, middle and end to your work and lifestyle. Make an effort to switch things up and build a morning ritual to supercharge  you for the day ahead.

A morning routine which leads to productivity is a science which you can implement in your own life.

Ask Yourself:

  • Can feel more energised and positive?
  • Can work harder & smarter?
  • Can be more alert, focused and relaxed through changing a few fundamental elements in your morning routine?

A morning ritual and it’s complexity will depend on you and your lifestyle & situation. It may include just 1 or 2 elements, or include far more detail.

There’s no definition of what a morning ritual must look like. The detail comes from you - which elements make you feel better, supercharge your performance, and become more positive and efficient in reaching your daily goals.

Below are some elements which you may want to consider including in your own morning routine:

  • Knowing the right time to consistently wake up to allow you enough time to complete your morning routine without being rushed
  • Knowing what you'll eat for breakfast
  • Introducing variety in your breakfast
  • Becoming well hydrated
  • Daily exercise / movement
  • Having clarity and purpose about your tasks and goals for the day, so this doesn't become a thinking time of your morning
  • Having your clothes set aside so you know what you'll wear
  • Eliminate as many decision-making tasks during your morning routine

Choose 1 ritual you anticipate will have the largest impact on your daily productivity, then practise this and make it part of your morning ritual. Through making adjustments over time so the ritual suits you will help determine if this will elevate your day.

Sticking to new routines for a minimum of 1 month before adding another element will allow you to create new habits which are likely to make an impact on your performance.

Continue to switch things up and continue to test new elements every month or so. If you have children - this will naturally occur as their routines with school and behaviour change.

Learning what works best for you and your circumstances is key. Keep the best, then discard the rest and soon you’ll have a morning ritual which truly prepares you for an optimised day of productivity.
