My recent move to Melbourne has seen me exploring the many healthy food hot spots this city has to offer (and boy are there quite a few!).
The Nutrition Bar on Swan St in Richmond has been one of my most frequently visited (It’s just down the road woo!), making grabbing a healthy smoothie, cold pressed juice or snack on-the-go super easy and convenient.
Whether you’re on your way to work, looking for a post-gym feed or in need a little fuel for shopping, The Nutrition Bar will have you sorted.
My favourite thing about the place is the customizable smoothie menu. They offer a great range of dairy free, high protein, super food, green and fruit smoothies (ranging from $8 - $10).
I’ve tried both the Namaste (almond milk, choc protein powder, dates, blueberries cinnamon, cacao) and the Loving Earth (banana, avocado, cinnamon, maca, spinach and bee pollan). Both get the thumbs up!
They also offer an awesome acai bowl menu. I tried my first one ever from here and was pleasantly surprised by my acai, banana, coconut water, fruit and gluten free muesli combo.
While they have quite a few seats to relax, sit and sip on your smoothie, eat your chia pudding or acai bowl, it seems most people actually take advantage of the grab and go convenience of the place.
If you’re after a quick snack I highly recommend the fit balls, which are made with organic almonds, brazil nuts, coconut, pepitas, dates, cranberries, cinnamon and coconut. If you want something more substantial you can pick up a pre-packaged salad or pre-portioned cooked meal, which are made off site and brought to the premises fresh daily (Look out for their buy 10 get 1 free deal).
During my last visit I was also lucky enough to score a bottle of kombucha (for a bargain price of $4), brewed and bottled by The Nutrition Bar’s friendly owner Eli.
Check their website for more info of upcoming in store events and workshops, which include kombucha brewing classes!
