Solar Springs Health Retreat

Nature and Nourishment at its finest

Many of you will know by now that I relish in getting away and spending time at a retreat. The benefits are long lasting and a fabulous way to reset your body and mind.

Last week I visited the Solar Springs Health Retreat. Established over 30 years ago in the quaint town of Bundanoon in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW, the grounds are stunning. There's an abundance of flourishing trees and wildlife, instantly relaxing you when arriving at the property.

The driveway up to the retreat

The retreat was a little over 2hrs drive from Sydney.  I left home around 11am and arrived at Solar Springs Retreat soon after 1pm.

The Grand Canyon in the National Park

The resort includes a tennis court, fully equipped gym and a 25m heated indoor pool.  There is a fabulous schedule of activities where you can choose what you would like to join in on (all optional).

Health & fitness activities on offer include Yoga, PilatesBike RidingAquafit, Bush Walking, Boxing plus more. I particularly loved the bush walks through the National Park.

The restaurant is perched amongst the treetops and offers incredible views of the tranquil region.

Lunch was always amazing!

The meals are reflective of the surrounding environment- fresh, organic and made with wholefoods. Chef Razavet has been awarded the Sydney Morning Herald Hat, hence the seriously outstanding food (particularly the 3 course dinners!!).

The gardens are stunning

The accommodation is set in a 1920’s guesthouse which overlooks the perfectly manicured gardens. The rooms have stunning views of the surrounding areas which instantly put you into a relaxed state of mind.

As with most retreats, it's a tech-free zone to maximise your downtime and unwinding.  If you're in need of wi-fi, there is a paid service which can be used in reception.

I had heard about the fabulous reputation of the spa treatments before I arrived, and relished in having a facial during my stay. Treatments available also include pedicures, body wraps and more.

By the end of my weekend getaway I was completely refreshed and rejuvenated. The combination of nature, fresh air, movement and wholesome food brings so much energy to both the body and mind.

Solar Springs Health Retreat is a magical weekend getaway. I would highly suggest bringing your Mum along and making it a Mum's & Daughters weekend stay.

It's also a fabulous place to hold a wedding, and I would definitely recommend looking into booking the entire place out for your guests.  It would be magical!!
