Lou Rice co-founder of Strapsicle

Aussie mum Lou Rice, and her partner Ben Stainlay are founders of viral e-reader accessory Strapsicle. They were recently on Shark Tank Australia's first episode of season 6 and had 4 of the 5 sharks make her an offer!

The idea for Strapsicle came about in the early hours of the morning when co-founder Lou dozed off whilst breastfeeding and accidentally dropped the Kindle she was reading on her little one. A temporary solution created by Lou's partner with a DIY silicone strap soon became the brand's product prototype.

The brand was founded with $10k and is now valued at $2.5m within just 2 years. In the 1st year of business, they sold $220k worth of product. In the 2nd year, they sold over $1.5m, giving a 750% increase in sales.

Most recently they have secured a $250k investment from 2 of the sharks in exchange for 22.5% share of the business.

In this episode we talk about the brand, product, moving to Bali and much more.
